Eleventh Annual
Midwest Artificial
Intelligence and
Cognitive Science
Conference

Sat-Sun, April 15 - 16, 2000,
University of Arkansas,
Fayetteville

We invite papers in all areas of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive
Science, including Computational Linguistics, Logic and Automated
Reasoning, Knowledge Representation, Learning, and Philosophy of Mind.

In addition, we have identified special topic tracks this year and a
have a number of invited speakers to speak on those topics. In
association with our speakers' areas of study, we are especially
encouraging papers in these key areas: knowledge management, robotics,
distributed AI, and philosophy of mind.

Submission Requirements: Full papers will be carefully reviewed for
oral presentation and publication in the Proceedings, which is
typically published by AAAI Press. Graduate students are particularly
encouraged to submit papers. Suggestions for panels and other special
sessions are also welcome. Papers should range in length from four to
eight two-column pages including figures and references. We will use
the templates provided by AAAI available at
http://www.aaai.org/Publications/Templates/.

Submissions should be emailed as a PDF, Postscript, or RTF MIME
attachment by February 10, 2000 to dblank@comp.uark.edu. You should
also download a copy of the AAAI Copyright Transfer form
(http://www.aaai.org/Publications/Author/copyrightform.html), sign it,
and FAX or surface mail a copy to:

MAICS Conference Plans: The conference will be held in Fayetteville,
Arkansas, the weekend April 15-16, 2000. Conference sessions will be
held on Saturday 8-5, and Sunday 8-4.

The University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, AR, is a beautiful town
nestled in the picturesque Ozark Mountains. Fayetteville is in the
northwest corner of Arkansas, just a stone's throw from Oklahoma and
Missouri. Fayetteville now sports a large airport making access
inexpensive and convenient.
